A history of Hospitality
The Tamborine Motel was built in 1978 as a charming hacienda style motel that has served visitors for decades. In 2023, the property was purchased by its current owners Comuna Collective and redeveloped during 2024 into The Tamborine Boutique Hotel.
The original bones of the building have been lovingly restored to pay homage to the original architectural intent of the property, whilst bringing a new level of amenities and style for guests to enjoy and explore for the years to come.
The vision
Sweeping mountain views and memories of perfect weekends spent exploring Tamborine Mountain inspired our vision for The Tamborine.
Taking inspiration from the original hacienda style of the building, favourite European boutique hotels and getaways to lush rainforests, the owners sought to imbue the property with a classic and timeless elegance, layering bespoke design elements to create an oasis of calm and relaxation.
